About Black Cat Consulting Group

Quaint coastal town with colorful houses reflecting on calm water.

Our Vision

Adaptive and resilient people who thrive in a VUCA world.

A red barn behind a lush green field under a partly cloudy sky.

Our Mission

To help people and organizations navigate uncertainty and continue moving toward a desired future state.

To accomplish this, we:

Listen first. Plan carefully. Execute deliberately.

Sunset over calm water with silhouetted building and birds.

Our Guiding Principles

Integrity

Trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship. We strengthen trust through transparency, candor, and a willingness to address difficult realities directly.

Respect

People are essential contributors to every organization's success. Leaders, teams, stakeholders, and shareholders bring different experiences, perspectives, and strengths. Meaningful adaptation requires engagement from all of them.

Effort

Progress is accumulated, not perfected. In dynamic environments, the pursuit of perfection can exhaust both people and systems. We value consistent forward movement and recognize that meaningful change occurs one step at a time.

Our Founder

Ian Shea, Doctoral Researcher in Organizational Leadership

Ian Shea's work sits at the intersection of operational experience, leadership, and organizational performance.

At nineteen years old, Ian deployed to Iraq, where he experienced firsthand how uncertainty, pressure, and leadership decisions can shape outcomes in high-stakes environments.

Across multiple industries, Ian has led teams, managed multi-million-dollar projects, built businesses, and operated in environments where competing priorities, compressed timelines, and accountability were daily realities.

These experiences shaped a practical understanding of how pressure affects people, teams, and organizations, ultimately informing BCCG's philosophy of Adaptive Resilience in VUCA Environments.

Today, Ian combines real-world experience with academic insight to help organizations navigate uncertainty, improve performance, and adapt to changing conditions.
